of sun & stone

A collection inspired by a season of softened rhythms and coastal calm—where sun-washed yellows, misty blues, and weathered grays drift together along the Northern California shore.

The Project

This collection was created as the final project for my fashion design class, but its roots run deeper—it's a personal reflection of the world around me. Inspired by the soft light, textured landscapes, art by Edi Matsumoto & Sean Scully, and the quiet beauty of California, every element speaks to a slower, more intentional way of living & dressing. All fabrics are deadstock or secondhand, chosen to honor sustainability and conscious creation.

Additional Assets

After completing the initial project, I felt compelled to bring the collection to life in a more tangible way. I wanted to create assets often used in the fashion industry—like CADs, physical garments, and creative visuals—to fully realize the vision. I developed technical flats for three pieces, constructed five garments, and produced various content to capture the spirit of the collection.

I believe the construction phase of the fashion design process is essential—not only does it bring designs to life, but it also deepens my appreciation for the craftsmanship required to create high-quality garments.

For this project, I drafted the yellow pants pattern entirely from scratch using Adobe Illustrator. The other pieces were developed by modifying pre-existing patterns to align with my design vision, with all adjustments also made in Adobe Illustrator.
